Coinbase deposit not showing up
Most deposits that have not appeared are not lost. The usual causes are confirmations that have not finished, a network mismatch, or a missing memo — all visible in the transaction itself.
Asset Recovery covers roughly 4,000 unsupported ERC-20 tokens across Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain and Base. Recovered assets are delivered to a self-custodial wallet, not to the Coinbase balance — the user needs one to complete the flow. Coinbase states plainly that it cannot recover funds lost by sending on an incorrect network — Asset Recovery covers unsupported ERC-20 style tokens, not wrong-network sends. One exception is documented and worth knowing: when Coinbase later adds support for a network, it has credited qualifying deposits retroactively and automatically (ETH, MATIC or USDC on Polygon; DAI, ETH or WBTC on Optimism), at the original amount rather than the original value. So for a chain Coinbase does not yet support, waiting is occasionally the thing that works. Multi-network support is not available in New York.
Check these first, in this order
- Give it more confirmations. A deposit that shows as confirmed on a block explorer still has to meet the exchange's own confirmation count, which is often higher.
- Check the network you actually used, not the one you meant to use. This is the single most common cause, and it is invisible unless you look at the transaction.
- Check the amount against Coinbase's minimum deposit. Exchanges typically do not auto-credit below it — the figure is on their own deposit page, and we do not carry it here.
- Check that the address really is your Coinbase deposit address, and not one you pasted from somewhere else.
Stop guessing — check the transaction
Paste the hash Coinbase gave you and we will tell you which of the above actually happened, and whether the funds moved at all.

What Coinbase will not act on
Different from the list above — the funds may still exist somewhere, but this is outside what they will do.
- No helpnetworks outside Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain and Base
- No helpassets that are not ERC-20 style tokens
- No helprebase tokens and some other ERC-20s — exact list unverified
