Bybit: what happens to a deposit on the wrong network

Two separate paths. If the unsupported asset shows on your Pending Asset page you withdraw it yourself; if it does not, you file a manual request, which costs a flat $200 and is only accepted for assets worth over $500. Recovery is best-effort and Bybit states 100% recovery is not guaranteed — if it fails, the deposit is a permanent loss. Requests for transactions older than 180 days, or from before 22 January 2024, are not processed.

Stated as unrecoverable

Bybit says funds are lost in these cases. Anyone offering to recover them for a fee is running a scam.

  • Funds losterroneous coin deposits on OEC
  • Funds losterroneous coin deposits on Ronin
  • Funds losterroneous coin deposits on Cronos

What they will not help with

Different from the list above: the funds may still exist, but Bybit will not act on these.

  • No helpmanual recovery requests for assets valued at $500 or less
  • No helprefunds smaller than the coin's minimum withdrawal limit
  • No helptransactions older than 180 days or dated before 22 January 2024
  • No helpsmart contract deposits of any coin other than ETH — TRC-20 USDT, BSC, Polygon and others must be sent by direct transfer; detectable on-chain from the sender

Assets that need a memo or tag

Sending these without the memo is one of the cheapest mistakes to fix — often just a network fee. Check this list before you send.

Assets that need a tag or memo

Bybit gives every customer the same deposit address for these, and tells them apart by a destination tag or memo: XRP. Sent without one, the funds arrive and are credited to nobody — contact their support with the transaction hash rather than sending again.

Bybit deposit not credited — the checks worth doing first

Is this actually your case?

Most missing deposits are not lost — they are waiting on confirmations or sitting in a wallet you can still reach. Paste the hash and find out which.
